Caring Gene® is a healthcare workforce development program under the Iroquois Healthcare Association. The program provides tuition-and-book support at no cost to individuals entering or advancing careers across 13 approved health, behavioral health, and social care fields in New York State.

The Challenge

As the Caring Gene® program expanded, internal teams faced increasing operational strain. User accounts and program participation data had to be manually managed across systems, creating a significant administrative burden and limiting scalability.

At the same time, the organization lacked clear visibility into website performance, engagement, and lead activity. Without reliable data and dashboards, it was difficult to understand how effectively the program was reaching and supporting its intended audiences.

Caring Gene®  needed automation, better system integration, and real-time insight—without adding staff or complexity.

The Solution

Strategic 7 Marketing partnered with Caring Gene®  to design and implement a custom integration between HubSpot and their learning management system, HealthStream.

This integration automated critical data flows that previously required manual effort, immediately reducing workload and operational friction. In parallel, Strategic 7 provided ongoing HubSpot consulting to ensure the platform supported both marketing and program operations effectively.

By removing manual account setup and disconnected data handling, this integration fundamentally changed how the program operated day to day. At the same time, leadership gained real-time insight into program engagement—making it possible to understand demand, performance, and reach without relying on manual reporting or assumptions.
